    Hiking

For a guided tour of the ice cave, you should bring a warm jacket. You'll also be given an extra one. You'll be crawling and it's tight, so it's inevitable that your jackets will get wet and dirty. This "donor jacket" is ideal. You won't keep it, either. GUARANTEED. You'll also be provided with a helmet and a carbide lamp.

    Hiking

This ice cave is no longer open to the public due to a serious incident. The "Enter at your own risk" sign will be removed shortly.

A lockable door has been installed.

Tours are still available. They are led by volunteer guides. Our tour was led by a speleologist.

Admission costs €8 because the maintenance of the underground stairs and bridges is very expensive. These structures are usually suspended on wire ropes so they are flexible and don't bend under the ice.

    Hiking

The ice cave on the Hundalm is the only freely accessible ice cave in North Tyrol. As part of a guided hike, you can explore the unique cave with its ice walls and stalactites. It goes on narrow paths, stairs and wooden jetties through the cave.

For a visit, you need warm clothes in the summer, because in the cave frosty temperatures prevail.

In May, June and September, the cave is open on weekends from 10am to 4pm. From July to August you can even explore the cave daily. Adults pay 6 euros and children 3 euros admission.
