On the route through the Donauried between Leipheim and Riedhausen you pass near the Leipheimer Moos in a forest that has since been wet again. The many trees standing in the water remind me of the Everglades in Florida.

The Donauried is a total of approx. 70 km long and with its 400 km² it is the largest unsettled open landscape in Germany after the Lüneburg Heath.
