In the sixties of the 20th century, due to the great urban development of the city, a new lighthouse was built to replace the previous one. First, a small rectangular ashlar tower was built next to a house similar to the old lighthouse. However, in 1976, during the construction of the Paseo Marítimo, a new lighthouse was erected next to the old one. This new lighthouse is a large cylindrical tower almost thirty meters high, which has become a landmark in the urban landscape of Torre del Mar.
