The hamlet of Aubin belongs to the municipality of Neufchâteau, a sub-municipality of Dalhem. The 'new castle' of the former county of Dalhem was built here. This is how the municipality got its name: Neufchâteau. From 1621 onwards, the local Saint-Laurentius chapel was elevated to parish church and Neufchâteau became an independent parish.

This imposing 17th century castle with castle farm in the centre of the village is currently being restored. Little is known about its history. Above the gate there is said to be a decorated limestone dated "1642 / PONT_PIER MEAN".
