Traccia" di San Francesco or Traccia del Cavallo 'a perennial spring, which according to tradition handed down locally for more than six centuries, was made to flow by the Saint of Assisi to drink while he was walking along the path. After Francis had prayed to the Lord, his donkey nudged the rock and pawed the ground, thus making the spring gush. A similar miracle, narrated by Tommaso da Celano in his "Life of Saint Francis", was painted by Giotto in the Basilica of Assisi.
