This chapel on the edge of the Lembeekse Bossen was founded in 1947 by pastor Van Goethem. It was dedicated to Our Lady of Sweet Comfort and Peace because Lembeke was spared from the violence of war. The chapel is surrounded by a procession of fifteen brick chapels,

Opposite the chapel is a small grotto of Mary built on the remains of a German bunker.
