"The Protestant village church of St. Wigiberti is located in the lower village of Altengottern, a district of the municipality of Unstrut-Hainich in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia. In 1641 the village and Altengottern Castle fell victim to the Thirty Years War. In 1650 reconstruction and resettlement began. From 1692 to 1695 the St. Wigiberti Church was built as a hall building on the site of a previous church. "
