The town of Hückelhoven is building a cycle path on the former railway line - starting from Baal station through the districts of Doveren, Hückelhoven, Millich/Schaufenberg and Ratheim. This will create a modern and safe infrastructure for cycling, which will not only connect the towns to the center but also ensure the connection to Baal station. The planning takes into account the possibility of later reactivation of the Baal-Ratheim railway line. The measure is funded by state and federal funds, with the funding rate being 80 to 90%

Very interesting for us because the old railway line is being converted into a bypass. The route is not yet completely passable and the bike has to be pushed for a short time. Local knowledge is an advantage here.
