The only one of the four city gates that once existed. A striking eye-catcher on the Nürnberger Straße, which rises from the market square.
Lane heading into town: gate tower, 15th century.
Lane heading out of town: gatehouse, 16th century, outer extension of the gatehouse, 17th century. There you can see a billy goat relief under the beamed ceiling, easily visible from the sidewalk in front of the gate.
