The name of the bridge is the model of the Devil's Bridge near the St. Gotthard Pass. In the Romantic era, one fell prey to the Swiss landscape. And perhaps the landscape of the Danube Valley also resembled Switzerland. But of course, one has also come up with a legend about the Devil's Bridge.

The Teufelsbrücke and the Amalienfelsen are located in the Princely Park in Inzigkofen. The rock named after Princess Amalie Zephyrine von Hohenzollern is 29 meters high. The Teufelsbrücke leads at 21.5 meters over the so-called "Hell" Gorge. The bridge was originally made of wood, but in 1983 the wood was replaced with stone. According to the legend, the devil helped the master builder to build the bridge. As a reward, the devil wanted the first soul to enter this bridge. But the master builder was clever and was the first to send a dog across the footbridge.

One of the most striking sights in the princely complex is the Devil's Bridge, which is 21.5 meters long and crosses a wildly romantic gorge, the 19.5 meter deep "Hell". One of the most striking sights in the Princely Complex is the Devil's Bridge, which is 21.5 meters long and crosses a wild and romantic gorge, the 19.5 meter deep “Höll”.
The wooden bridge constructed when the park was expanded to the west in 1843 was replaced in 1895 by an elegantly curved concrete structure with ascending and descending stairs. The bridge, the name of which probably goes back to the enthusiasm for Switzerland in Romanticism and is derived from the "real" Devil's Bridge at the St. Gotthard Pass, is soon embellished with a legend according to which the builder asked the devil, who was helpful in the bridge construction, to call it in of "wages" was able to outsmart. After passing the bridge, you leave the gorge through a 4 meter long, artificial rock tunnel. The "Höll" below the Teufelsbrücke was accessible in earlier days by an adventurous staircase and footbridge, the "Himmelsleiter".

The Devil's Bridge reminds me of the stone bridges over and near the Kaiserkanal
on the way to Beijing. However, in addition to the steps, they also have a channel for the bicycle and cart tires.
Discovering is so exciting when traveling.

A path with a few steps leads to the bridge, from there you can see over to the Meritage chapel, and through the small gate you can return to the plateau if you come from the suspension bridge.
