Cogne

Cogne is one of the best known towns in the Aosta Valley. A short distance from here are the majestic and fascinating Lillaz waterfalls.

Cogne stands at 1,534 meters above sea level, on the edge of Prato di Sant'Orso, a wide alpine meadow that extends into coniferous and birch forests, with the Gran Paradiso massif in the background.
Cogne offers an extensive network of trails, routes and itineraries for mountain biking. In the Aosta Valley, with the mountain bike we can cover more than 1,000 kilometers of tracks

Cogne is the starting point for hikes in the Gran Paradiso area and on the Haute route no. 2 long-distance hiking trail.
Cogne is part of the Gran Paradiso National Park. From the hamlet of Valnontey you can reach the Rifugio Vittorio Sella, from Lillaz you can reach the Rifugio Sogno di Berdzé al Péradzà.There is a small ski area near Cogne, which is accessible by a ski bus, a cable car near Laydatré and two chairlifts.
