The square is named after Michel Duroc, a local-born student at the Pont-à-Mousson Royal Military School. There are many architectural buildings from the 16th to 20th centuries. In the center is a fountain commemorating the use of American volunteer ambulance drivers in eastern France from 1915 to 1917. The square is triangular in shape and is the largest group of Renaissance arcades in Lorraine. Cozy cafés and shops under arcades invite you to stroll and linger.

Fun fact on the side: Sewers and manhole covers all over the world bear the stamp (PAM) of local steel production.
