Cross stone to mark the boundary between the former Bredenbeck monastery (Neukloster) and the Buxtehude forest. Since the stone must have fallen over, the cross is upside down. Unfortunately, the board with the description is so illegible that you can no longer read anything - a shame.
In the Middle Ages, cross stones served as markers for court and meeting places, as a memorial for accidents or crimes.
