The Kere Tower is named after the Würzburg cathedral provost Richard von der Kere (1562-1583). In earlier centuries, the cathedral provosts appointed the mayor of the place. The tower was built in 1573 and has had an eventful history spanning centuries up to the present day and is one of Eibelstadt's landmarks.
