Crystal Springs in San Mateo is an excellent bike-friendly canyon for accessing the upper stretches of the watershed valley. Well-marked for cycling, with full rights to take the lane when needed, most drivers are familiar with and respectful for cyclists. It is a gentle incline most of the way, with plenty of sweeps and swoops for fun while descending. I'm super lucky to live right next to it. This monument is but a blip off the side of this road, easy to miss--but the whole canyon is so sweet, who cares?
