Today's Church of St. Laurentius in Drosendorf near Hollfeld was built in 1719 by Gregory and
Dionysius Finsterwalder von Scheßlitz built. The unpretentious baroque building with a roof turret surprises with its magnificent late baroque furnishings.
The first church in Drosendorf was a chapel on the Bäckerkellerplatz in Drosendorf
stood, to the right of the staircase to today's church. As from an old church account from
1699, 2425 roof tiles were needed for the new roofing of the approx. 70 square meter roof area. The chapel is said to have stood there until 1750 or 1760. The oldest surviving bell from the time of this chapel, dating from 1645, is now used in the morgue. It was cast by Hans Kopp from Forchheim in 1645 with the inscription: "Gloria in Excelsis Deo".
