The monument commemorates Warden Vincenc Šimčák and the tragic event that took place here in August 1950. The SNB raided the commander of the resistance group, Miloslav Pospíšil. Although Šimčák's death became a pretext for Pospíšil's execution in 1951, the police officer was probably shot by one of his own people.
