The original chapel around the modified water spring was built in 1658 by Jan Rottal. Expanded in 1700. In 1748, its extensive reconstruction was carried out, a cellar with several water outlets was built under the chapel. The spring is said to have miraculous healing effects. Its last major reconstruction took place in 2003-2007

The Water Chapel is an integral part of Hostýn. It was built in 1700 by the Bystřice parish priest Tomáš Provazník, near a spring that gushes out of a rock on the western slope of Hostýn.
