The Arch of Augustus is a triumphal monument built in 9/8 BC in honor of the emperor Augustus.
This arch, made mainly of marble, is one of the best preserved in Northern Italy and represents a symbol of Roman history in the region. An inscription on the structure says that it was commissioned by the Ligurian king Marco Iulius Cottius and recalls the 14 tribes that were part of his kingdom.

The Arch of Augustus in Susa, the ancient Segusio, is a monastic arch of honor, in the year 9/8 BC. Was built in honor of Emperor Augustus. The predominantly marble arch is the best preserved of its kind in northern Italy. His inscription names as donor the Ligurian king Marcus Iulius Cottius and counts in this context the 14 belonging to the kingdom peoples.
