This is the remainder of a route that was initially built from Stolberg to Morsbach as a connection to the Teut and Gouley collieries and later extended to Kohlscheid (formerly an independent municipality in the Aachen district, since 1972 a district of Herzogenrath). From the entire route there is only a wild piece from Stolberg Hbf to here at the pedestrian bridge over the K30. Until 2004 it still served as a siding for the Saint Gobein company.

A few years ago, RWTH Aachen University came up with a project for a state-of-the-art electric train that was to be tested on these tracks. They then cleared everything there. However, the project was never realized, so nature reclaimed the place.
