Hiking
The Scarlet Forest is a forest of approximately five hectares on the south side of Haren. It is named after a farm, the Scharlakenhof. Around 1900, owner C.C. Geertsema part of his lands with oaks that are less interesting for agriculture, it was therefore also called Geertsema forest. nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlakenbos
