The quiet, family-friendly town of Sautens is one of the most popular summer holiday destinations in the Ötztal. Ideal for excursions inside and outside the valley, the whole Ötztal opens up from here, which you can explore particularly well with a mountain bike.

Sautens at the entrance to the Ötztal is made up of several districts, including Haderlehn, 2 km away. With its mild climate, the community is well suited for fruit growing, with some of the fruit being processed here in small private distilleries to make the well-known “Obstler”, a clear schnapps. The area has been populated since prehistoric times, the village name is probably of pre-Roman origin.

Worth seeing are the old parish church built in 1517 and the new parish church built in 1831 in the style of late classicism, which is one of the most beautiful village churches in Tyrol. In addition, the ideal location of course opens up all the sporting opportunities in the Ötztal, including the wonderful mountains, which invite you to countless hiking and cycling tours. The Sautens leisure center, on the other hand, offers you bathing fun with two heated swimming pools and a children's pool, as well as the nearby Piburger See, a popular destination that can be reached from the village.
