Hendrik ECB Beikirch is known for brilliantly painting black and white portraits, either on canvas or on large buildings. His poetic portraits often depict people from the immediate environment, strange and familiar at the same time. The dripping technique, which makes some drops of paint appear to run down, is a distinguishing feature of many of his works. But even these blurry effects can't curtail their realistic intensity.
Increasingly, his works in public space take on an almost utopian scale that makes the process of painting a daring undertaking.
