From the summit you have fantastic views of the city and the surrounding area. It is very impressive and worth seeing - the climb, which may be a bit difficult for some, is worth it. Of course you have to leave the bike and go up the stairs on foot.
You are there at 91 m above sea level or approx. 45 m above Bad Segeberg. You can see the Marienkirche and Segeberg's biggest employer, Möbel-Kraft. Further to the right you can see the hospital, the rehabilitation clinic, the Vitalia-Seehotel and the lake with the gentle, hilly landscape around Bad Segeberg. The mountain was originally 110 m high. The Kalkberg is the only elevation of massive rock in Schleswig-Holstein. The layers of salt beneath the mountain pushed up the rock that was formed in ancient times. The core of the mountain is made of anhydrite, the outer shell is plaster.gesundheitspark.de/sp_137-rundgang-bad-segeberg-druckversion-.htm

Already in 1884, with the beginning of the spa business, a beautification association tried to preserve the remaining limestone mountain, which he planted in succession, equipped with paths and benches and equipped with a telescope on the summit. To the extent that the importance of the summit as a popular vantage point for growing tourism became apparent, gypsum mining was limited. In 1903, the association built the first restaurant, the "Bergschlösschen" on the mountain, as a replacement for an original refuge. With the discovery of the Kalkberg cave in 1912 and the establishment of the open-air theater from 1934 to 1937, the Kalkberg itself also gained in importance as a tourist attraction. Most recently, in 1955, an access to the edge of the approximately 43 meter deep castle fountain was built from the summit path, which affords a view into the initially illuminated fountain shaft. Still a popular vantage point, the view extends from the summit all around the country and with good visibility to the church towers of Lübeck.wikiwand.com/de/Bad_Segeberg

The Kalkberg is a rock in the center of Bad Segeberg, which is not made up of limestone, but near the surface of gypsum and in the core of anhydrite. Source: Wikipedia
