The first lock in Wolfswinkel was built between 1603 and 1620. The so-called Wolfswinkel locks were completed in 1746 and the lock in its current form was built in 1876. In 1974 the mechanical facilities of the lock were renewed and in 1999 the upper and lower gates were repaired. Behind the lock, the historic industrial buildings of the former paper factory are lined up along the Finow Canal.
