Hiking
Built between 1885 and 1889, the battery provided a direct view of Italy and prevented potential attacks. At the time, it was even the highest elevation of the French fortifications.
The barracks were used to house mobile troops of alpine hunters and alpine infantry. It remained in use until 1940.
