The castle, first mentioned in 1146, was acquired by the city of Homberg in 2012. Since then, an association has lovingly taken care of the facility and spoils you every Sunday from 2 p.m. to at least 5 p.m., in summer also until 6 p.m., with homemade cakes. The old gates are only closed from December to the beginning of January - that's when it's the winter break.

The Homberger Castle is lovingly maintained and there is coffee and cake on Sundays in the summer months! It's a great place to walk around and enjoy some art, marvel at a mighty linden tree and get to know many (apple) tree species with their first and last names written on them.
