This chapel is quite interesting. It began as a small chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, built in 1612 by order of a certain Father Jan van Goch. In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, it became a place of pilgrimage, attracting many people from North Brabant, on the other side of the Meuse River, where Catholicism was then prohibited.
