About 800 m south of the church of Dunum is the Radbodsberg on the road "Am Radbodsberg" in the district of Brill. According to legend, the Frisian king Radbod is said to be buried here. The hill, also called Rabbelsberg, is 3 m high today. It was excavated in 1898 and 1904. At that time it had a diameter of 25-30 m, making it the largest prehistoric hill in East Friesland. During the excavation, six urn graves, ten cremation graves without urns, a body grave, a stone chest and a horse's skull with cervical vertebrae and leather remains were discovered.
