Golena di Savena, gravel road that runs along the Abandonato Savena, from the industrial area of Cadriano to the monument to the Nazi massacre of 12/9/1945On 12 September 1944 some partisans from Castel Maggiore (BO) stopped a German truck, requisitioned it and disarmed the German soldiers who were on board, leaving them free. In retaliation, the Nazis set fire to a building in the locality of Biscia di Castel Maggiore and arrested seven men near the building (according to one source, the victims lived in the building, according to another source they had been stopped on the street).
They were Dionigio Bordoni, Roberto Dezaiacomo, Calimero Donati, Domenico Guerri, Enrico Piva, Romano Stanzani and Gino Zanarini, all active in the opposition movement and linked to the Resistance, probably identified thanks to a report.
Those arrested were taken to the German command at the Montaguti villa in Granarolo (BO), perhaps for questioning, and then, brought back to the Biscia, were killed.
The German action led to an eighth victim: Cleto Scagliarini who, sick, was taken out of the building and left lying on a mattress and who died from the worsening of his condition.
The news of the shooting of the seven men was given by a flyer of the Cln of Castel Maggiore which, denouncing the Nazi and Fascist violence, urged the population to participate in a day of city mourning, the shopkeepers to keep the shops closed, the workers, the laborers, peasants and all citizens to abstain from work
