Who wants to make a tour through fields and meadows with friends or family, while enjoying as much sun as possible and looking for idyllic places to linger, this tour is perfect.
The so-called Werler shamrock consists of 4 individual routes, which always end at the starting point. They are color coded - green, black, red, blue - so you can easily orient yourself as the route goes. The beauty: no route is twice. Thus, you can always see other corners, which is especially great if you drive all 4 routes in one day.
Unfortunately, some signs are hidden, twisted or completely disappeared, so you have to be careful at one or the other places something.

    Now to the routes:
We started with the longest route - the black one. It is 22 km long and leads almost continuously through meadows and fields, past small streams and footbridges. Due to the flat landscape, the numerous wind turbines and the animals in the fields, you quickly get a Holland feeling and feels like on vacation in our beautiful neighboring country: o)
On this route you can always find benches, meadows or other places for a little break or a picnic - which is especially nice when traveling with children.
Another advantage: this route has the best signage, so that you can orient yourself very well, quickly and easily.

Back at the starting point, we decided on the red route. This has a length of 20 km. Unfortunately, the first signs were missing right at the beginning and we orientated ourselves to the map on the mobile phone display. This route consists of a good mix of solid road and dirt roads. Really demanding climbs do not exist either. Only children might have to push their way up to the motorway bridge. Otherwise, this route offers plenty of nature and idyllic places for small breaks.

Next came the blue route and this was unfortunately not well signposted. Therefore, our tip: Look at the map and follow the mobile phone display. Unfortunately we did not do it, so this part of the cloverleaf is not complete. At the next opportunity we will drive it again and complete the description. As we drove the route, we can say that the route is well suited for children and normal bicycles, since here are mainly solid roads. However, also little nature compared to the other two routes.
Similarly, one can also describe our last route - the green one. This is also 17 km long and leads relatively little through idyllic landscapes. Of course you have many fields left and right, but you can not find a picnic spot. Especially the last part leads along the main road and even if asphalt is easy to drive, it is rather unsuitable for children and not so nice.

      Therefore my conclusion:
If you want to make a nice day trip with friends or family, in which you also like to take breaks and want to forget the time, I recommend the black and red route.
For sporty laps, where you concentrate on yourself, you want to drive through it, but still do not want to miss fields and meadows, for the blue and green route are ideal.

But the Werler shamrock offers two great highlights right at the junction, which make a day trip varied.

      1) So you can visit the all-weather bath after an idyllic bike ride, where you have both outside and inside numerous opportunities to enjoy the "cool water". Especially children can let off steam here.

      2) The adjacent city park with lots of play and Tobeu facilities for children, a stream with free-roaming ducks, the saline and very large green areas invites you to linger the whole family. If you did not take a picnic during the bike tour, you can make up for it here and round off the day.
