EN - Catalans Beach is the most accessible beach when you are in the center of Marseille. It is a 15-minute walk from the Old Port and is ideal for taking a sudden dip.

Don’t hesitate to go beyond the stagnant waters and crowds at the edge to enjoy the deeper, less crowded and cleaner waters. Catalans Beach is also known for its Beach Volleyball courts which attract players and spectators all year round. You can stroll around watching the wild games by sitting on the benches located higher up.

Small historical point: In the 18th century, the cove of Saint-Lambert was alone and far from the city center and served by fishermen of Catalan origin. Hence perhaps the name Catalan beach. Indeed, in 1423 the Catalans attacked from this place.

The Subaqua Museum is also located in the sea: works of art on the seabed. Diving goggles are mandatory, but fins and/or a snorkel are helpful. The works of art are located in the sea to the left, marked with a white buoy, approximately 150 meters from the left-hand beach promenade (left of the circular viewing platform).

There are no signs of the spectacle on site.
