Japanese Garden, Botanical Garden Augsburg

The botanical is worth a visit.

In 1936 the city of Augsburg opened its teaching and school garden on the edge of the Siebentischwald. At that time just 1.7 hectares in size, the area developed over the years into a spacious natural idyll for everyone.The state horticultural show in 1985 was decisive for the company's appearance. The state horticultural show created lasting values. Most parts of the garden and themed gardens have been preserved and have been further developed in the following years. The planning concept of the State Garden Show is continued to this day. Important parts of the garden such as the old water garden and the sunken garden will be given a thorough renovation. The former city nursery gets its new meaning and task as the nursery of the botanical garden. The number of visitors in the coming years will be around 250,000 visitors per year. Starting in 1987, an annual program for the garden is published in which a variety of events, seminars, guided tours, concerts and lectures are offered to visitors.
