Bývalý vodní mlýn (Water mill ruins)

The place was 3 km west of Wassersuppen on the road from Mauthaus to Grafenried. Seeg was first mentioned in 1613. The village was built on a stream that could be used to run a mill, a sawmill and a glassworks. In 1749 there were 3 mills and a sawmill in the town. There was also a carpenter and a glass cutter. In 1839 the town consisted of 26 houses and 232 inhabitants.

Former glassworks and vanished village, where the water power of the small stream was used for industrial purposes. 3 mills, a stamp mill, a glassworks and a saw worked here. The remains of the masonry are up to four meters high in places. The mill house and water wheel shaft can still be seen. If the nettles are quite high, it is easy to overlook cellars/pits.

Here, the old ruins of Seeg are best explored in spring, when everything is not yet overgrown.
You can see some floor plans and also sunken cellars.
The most beautiful is the creek that flows down the mill inlet like a small waterfall.
