At this location you are standing on a historic site, where the now disappeared Eeckhoven Castle once stood.
The origins of this castle were in the 12th century.
Until the 17th century, the castle was an important military base. Then decline began.
In the Rijkmuseum you can admire an image of Eeckhoven Castle, made in 1697 by Franz Ertinger.
