In 1499, the "Rechgärtl" was already mentioned as a field name. Its location is curious, as it stands in a shallow, almost level hollow near the Kulmriegel. At that time, numerous finds confirm that a Roman road, the so-called Hochstraße, ran through here. Just a few hundred meters from the Rehgartl Cross, 21 Roman silver denarii were found.
