All honor to the builders, great achievement.

Personally, I would recommend taking the cable car up to visit the Zugspitze - and down the cog railway. Both have their charms. The ride on the Zahradbahn takes a while, and it could happen in changeable weather that you can no longer see anything above. The tickets can be combined.

The new lane is not in order yet, maybe they'll make it to December, they said

High with the Zugspitzbahn, down with the rack railway, so you have both experiences (train station is right next to the gondola station)

It is worthwhile to go up with the new train. But I think she is very expensive. If you are upstairs you have an excellent view with a clear view. And from there you can hike with climbing equipment to the summit cross over.

Unfortunately, in October 2018, defects still occur in case of rescue.

A nostalgic experience. Most of the route leads through tunnels.

The rack railway is really nice, but the prices are awesome.

Undoubtedly a great experience ... but as a family man with two children you have to turn over 180 euros for a cable car ride on the table.

    Indeed a record-breaking cable car .....
Very convenient. Can leave the car downstairs.
But unfortunately very crowded. And that in Corona times ...

If you like to ride the cable car and want to invest 59.90 euros for the ascent and descent, this is the place for you.

The highest mountain in Germany is always worth a trip. Even if it rains in the valley, there is a chance of a good view at 2,962 m! The way back to Grainau is then a good end!
