Be there when it springs and greens everywhere and nature wants to surpass itself. Then a bird concert in the early morning can become an unforgettable experience.
Immerse yourself in the shady alluvial forest and feel its pleasant coolness on hot summer days. Treat yourself to a footbath in one of the crystal-clear old arms of the Rhine and simply let your soul dangle when you look into the canopy of leaves.
The scenery looks eerie when, in the November fog, mighty giant trees suddenly appear in front of us out of the gray nothingness. On days when you really don't want to set foot outside, the silence and solitude in the forest wilderness are best experienced. When reed stalks and moss cushions are covered with glittering white ice crystals and a cold east wind blows in our faces, nature is in hibernation.
Enjoy the interplay of forest and water in this unique habitat. Where better to switch off from everyday life than in untouched nature? Being outside, forgetting yourself and the time Looking, listening and being amazed is the motto on the Neuried floodplain wilderness trail.
Attention: The floodplain wilderness path near Altenheim is only accessible if it is not heavily flooded. On site at the entrance to the path you can easily see this from the traffic light-colored gauge that stands in the water. If the water level is in the green range, you can usually walk the path with dry feet. If the water is up to the yellow area, individual path sections are flooded and the ground can be muddy. If the water is so high that it reaches the red mark on the bar, the path is flooded and closed.
If you want to find out about the water levels at home, you will find information on accessibility under the pictures on the left.
We wish you a lot of fun on the exciting wilderness trail.
