For a good part of the first stage of the Via degli Dei (in case you proceed south) you will flank the waters of the Reno river, on which spectacular panoramic views open up. The river goes the other way: the source, in fact, is located in Prunetta, in the province of Pistoia.

In case of rain, it is recommended to use the other bank [bridges]. At Palazzo Rosso, the Pizzano Bridge can be used to return to the eastern bank.
