Road cycling

Opened in 1822, the cemetery encompassed a triangular area between two old paths. The complex was accessed via a west-east main path extending along the Freiheitstraße axis and five cross paths oriented approximately north-south. It served as a communal burial ground for the city and garrison of Deutz until the New Deutz Cemetery was established in 1894. It was closed to row burials that same year.
