In the forest, the Berggasthaus Niedersachsen invites you to visit. The inn that was built was demolished in its former form in 1955, but the inn has continued to this day in a small adjoining building.
The inn had a historic garden, which was once designed by Hanover's first city garden inspector, Julius Trip, and originally covered 14 hectares of open space. The park is an example of "mixed style" garden art typical of the 19th century. From the recently restored outdoor staircase you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Calenberger Land in the direction of Deister.
