In the early 1990s, as part of the village renewal, the Anger was redesigned based on its historical model. A stone block circle serves as the walling. An Angerlinde, surrounded by four chestnut trees in the flowering colors red and white (like the Hessian state colors), was planted. The appealing place on the Netra-Bach is located directly on the approx. 110 km long Herkules-Wartburg cycle path and invites you to linger, boards provide information about the local hiking trails. Together with the new bakery built in 2002 and the Gänsekerle monument created in 2007, it characterizes the townscape today.

In Datterode, as in many places, the Anger used to be the common grazing area for the cattle of everyone in the place. It was also used as a place of justice, later as a meeting place, e.g. for fair celebrations. As already mentioned, the aging place (which was very neglected at the time) was renovated in the 1990s and today offers a beautiful rest area worth seeing.
