The Wolf's Glen is a major quarry whose southern wall collapsed during quarrying. The hiking trail now leads under this rock fall. A tunnel was driven west above the violin for the mining of whetstones and grindstones. The traces of the scaffolding tunnels are still clearly visible in the northern wall. The then tenant Johann Auer has immortalized himself with a chiseled signature in the middle of the northern one
rock face.
