The Escher Seen are two adjacent quarry ponds in the Esch/Auweiler district of Cologne. They were created in the 1950s to 1980s by silting. While the northern lake is open to the public and has been used as an outdoor pool since 1988, the southern lake is fenced in and fished by a fishing club. The total area of the Escher Seen is 28.2 hectares (North: 16.2 hectares, South: 12 hectares). The maximum depth is 18 m in the southern lake, while the Escher See Nord is at most 16 m deep.
