Nature trail

The nature reserve Riddagshausen is unique because of its diverse habitats. A newly created nature adventure trail has the goal of a deeper and responsible understanding of the existing valuable nature. Here you can observe the typical and rare animals and plants of the pond landscape, the adjacent forests as well as the meadows, pastures and fields up close and get to know their habitats.
On a circular route of seven kilometers you can explore nine stations:
"Dragonflies - flying artists above the water", "cattle caring for grassland", "amphibians - life in pond and pool", "mushrooms - invisible netting in the forest floor", "living field corridor", "bees", "fishing industry in Riddagshausen", "Living Lake" and "Trees and Shrubs". A detour of four kilometers leads to the station Sandmagerrasen "New Land".
At all stations there are large and small information boards with lots of information about the wildlife and the flora of the reserve and measures for the preservation, care and development of habitats.
The starting point of the nature experience tour is Station A "Dragonflies - flying artists above the water". It is located on the Lindenallee, south of the restaurant Schäfers Ruh.
