In 1862, the Bellenbergers built the "Maria-Hilf" chapel on the site of the old castle on the Schlossberg out of gratitude for protecting Bellenberg from terrible hail damage in 1860 and 1861. The chapel is still a quiet place today, as it was almost 150 years ago of contemplation and prayer. A popular hiking trail leads up wooden steps from the old parish church to the "Käpelle", where the bell can still be rung by hand today.
