The glacial cirque of Corral del Veleta is a wild territory of the high mountains of Nevada. The path moves away from the walls to go through the circus through the rocky niches that house two small lagoons, one of which is the highest in the Sierra Nevada, at 3,090 m above sea level. The traverse follows the natural front of the old moraine and climbs the gleaming vasars of the west face of Cerro de los Machos (3,327 m), less steep than they seem from afar.
