The National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM) was created in 1987 to support groups that promote environmental education activities. It has a public program of excursions guided by technical specialists in nature and environmental culture. The main purposes are the compilation and dissemination of natural values and to recover the pedagogical tradition practiced in the Sierra de Guadarrama since the 19th century. In the oak meadows of Pradera de Navalhondo and the pine forests of Montes de Valsaín there are several itineraries marked with colored posts, signs and wooden sticks.
