According to historical maps, this round, two-storey fortified tower with a pointed stone cone roof occupied the south-easternmost position of the old town fortifications. The eastern course of the former line of walls led to the Uffhubtor via the Neuweg, which was later laid out. The tower dates from the first half of the 15th century.
