In the outer chapel below the church of St. Matthias in Ulmen there is a depiction of the Mother of God known as a "Pieta", with Mary holding her dead son on her lap. The - probably world-famous - representation of such a "pieta" is in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and was created by the young Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564).
